Meet Obbo

Tears would roll down my cheek every time I stood up to speak to people” Why was I born? Isn’t there more to life? What happens now? Such questions and thoughts kept ringing in my head for days until that Thursday sunny afternoon seated at a shop holding my head -two people holding bibles approached me and invited me to the mission House.” Says Obbo

Obbo’s Christian walk was difficult, and he backslid many times by trying to “fix” himself. He read countless books on fear, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that it was just a part of him. Whenever he had to speak before people, tears would roll down his face, and he would have nightmares about being attacked. He even began to question if he was truly saved.

But one day, during devotions at the Legacy mission house, Obbo felt a weight lift off of him. From that moment on, fear no longer controlled him. Obbo lives just a five-minute walk away from the mission house. He is passionate about technology and helping youth reach their full potential in God. He has preached to 113 people and led 53 to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. He shares his testimony with over 15 youth every week at the mission house and serves on the media team at his local church. Obbo is currently pursuing a certificate in computer science at the YMCA institution in Kampala.

It is a privilege to serve alongside Obbo, and his story is a reminder that our God is bigger than fear.
